Can the colors be hardcoded into the Arduino sketch

I have a unique theory for a project and I am hoping that the Pixy can do it.

I have an object that can change colors. Using that color I want to compare
it to a chart and return the value of the matched color.

So can the scanning color be dynamically changed?

If not, then can the button that is pressed to lock in the color be activated
through programming rather than a human touch?

Thanks

Buddy

Hey Buddy,

interesting question. Unfortunately Pixy does not support changing the color signature dynamically. You can activate the color signature setting via PixyMon, but you need to click and draw on the image to select a region to reference. There’s no method in the serial or Arduino protocol to set a color signature.

Sorry to disappoint!

Jesse

Thanks for getting back to me. I may be able to hookup a solenoid to press the button.

I am designing a “poor mans” spectrometer for testing aquarium
water so your camera is the first diy sensor that I have found
that “might” be able to process my idea.

Good deal - the solenoid is a great idea. Good luck!
